Introduction:

Aloe Vera, commonly known for its skin benefits, can also make a delightful addition to your culinary arsenal. This unique and refreshing Aloe Vera Sabzi recipe brings a burst of taste and nutrition to your plate. Follow the step-by-step process to prepare this nutritious dish.

 

Aloe Vera Sabji Recipe


Material:

- 1 cup fresh aloe vera gel (peeled and cut into pieces)

- 1 large onion (finely chopped)

- 2 tomatoes (chopped)

- 2 green chillies (finely chopped)

- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1 teaspoon cumin

- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds

- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste

- 1/2 tsp red chili powder (adjust as per seasoning)

- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala

- salt to taste

- Fresh coriander for garnish

- 2 tbsp cooking oil

 

Instruction:

 

1. Prepare Aloe Vera:

     -Peel the aloe vera leaves and extract its gel.

     - Cut aloe vera gel into small pieces.

     -Wash the aloe vera pieces thoroughly to remove any remaining bitterness.

 

2. Temper the spices:

     - Heat oil in a pan on medium flame.

     -Add cumin and mustard seeds; Let them explode.

     - Add chopped green chillies, ginger-garlic paste and fry until the raw smell goes away.

 

3. Add Onion:

     - Add finely chopped onion to it and cook until it turns golden brown.

 

4. Add Tomatoes:

     - Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and oil starts separating.

 

5. Spices:

     - Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt. Mix well to combine the spices evenly.

 

6. Cook Aloe Vera:

     - Gently add the chopped aloe vera pieces to the pan, making sure they are well coated with the spice mixture.

     - Cook on medium flame for 10-15 minutes while stirring occasionally. Aloe vera should become soft.

 

7. Boil and Garnish:

     Lower the flame, cover the pan and let the vegetable simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes.

     - When aloe vera is completely ripe, garnish it with fresh coriander leaves.

 

8. Serve:

     Now your aloe vera vegetable is ready to serve. Enjoy it with hot roti or boiled rice.
